SATURDAY'S MATCHES. The Wairarapa championship matches were continued on Saturday in fine weather. Tho pitchos were somewhat worn and. haul, and the ball pitched considerably. 'Carlton, playing against Masterton A, gained an eight-wicket victory an<] Martinborougli lost to Masterton B. The result of the Saturday's matches makes the championship very interesting as the four teams now have practically an equal chance of winning. The scores were as follow: ' CARLTON v. MASTERTON A. The match between New South Wales Teachers and Auckland was continued on. Saturday in glorious weather. The visitors in theiV first innings scored 20S. and in their second inning* made the fine score of 427 for the loss of three wickets, O'Neill and McMullen both' scored a century by magnificent cricket. Barnes (62) was the next highest scorer, when the ; innings was declared closed. Requiring 476 to win Auckland went in. nnd made a good stand, and at tlie l ! call of time had lost four ivickete for 223 Tuns. The match was therefore drawn. For Auckland Grenior scored R7, Caradus 19. Fenrns .19;- Taylor (not out) 12, and Dacro 25.
