FIREMEN TROUBLE
THE MAORI SAILS. (By Tdfjararjh — Pros Atsociation.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The trouble with the Maori's firemen was settled this afternoon. The men had a meeting lasting about two hours, and eventually decided unanimously to return to work. In the meantime the Union Company had anticipated iv settlement, and had a start made to get lip :steam, and when the firemen had made their decision ar-new crew had signed on, fourteen of the original twenty-nine stokehold men returning. The Maori got away just after eight o'clock for Lyttelton with 300 passengers. VESSEL HELD UP. DUNEDIN, Last Night. The s.s. Moura was to have sailed for northern ports in. place of the Tarawera, but when the vessel was all ready to leave the discovery was made that four firemen were missing. A search for them proved unavailing, and the vessel therefore cannot get going before noon to-morrow.
