IMPORTANT AMENDMENT ACCEPTED.

, In the House of Commons the Government accepted Sir Alfred Mond's amendment providing for proportional representation in any constituency returning over two members to the Iri.=h House of Commons for a period of three years.

The amendment applied to Dublin, Dublin County, Cork and Belfast.

Tt is estimated that the Unionists will pain from throe to six seats. Mr John Redmond has approved of -he amendment.
