The Times, Daily Telegraph, Mail, Graphic, Globe, Evening News, Sunday Times, Saturday Review, The Outlook, Liverpool Courier, Manchester Courier, Yorkshire Post, Western Morning News, Irish 'Times and Glasgow Herald are among the newspapers favouring the abandonment of the food taxes. Lord Derby, in postponing the meeting of th,e Lancashire Unionists, stated that an agreement regarding the food taxes was in sight.
