The chestf congreM was brought io a conclusion to-day. when j. C. Grierson, of Auckland, who defeated Gyles yesterday, play off with G. H/ck/s, of Napier. Grierson adopted the Carl Kann system 1 of 'defence, with which his opponent did not seem familiar.
