A MELBOURNE TRAGEDY. (Received hast Night, 8.15 o'clock.) MELBOURNE, January 7. Two burglars entered the bedroom of Mr Trotter, chief collector for Messrs Macßobert and Sons, confectioners. Trotter was shot in the presence of. his wife, and the burglars secured £2OO in booty.

A SENSATIONAL STORY. Mrs Trotter gives a sensational story concerning the. occurrence. states that her husband, herself and her five-vear-old child were awakened at 2 o'clock in the morning by the flash of an electric light.
