WAIRARAPA MATCHES. ( The recently formed Wairarapa Bowling Centre held its first tournament at Masterton on New Year's Day, nine rinks representing Masterton/ Carterton and Greytown Clubs taking part. An Eketahuna rink was expected to take part, but did not put in a.n appearaneo. Another team joined in before the afternoon was far gone, and made up the number. In order to complete the games in two days, the heads were made, 13 up, and there was only one section. The following .wore the results of the first day's play: First Round.—MePhee, R. Smith, E. Hall, F. Lindop (a) 14 v. H. King, Dickens, Rose, C. Perryi(s») 12; Wilkes, Chapman, Staples, 0. Pragnell (s) lfi v. W. Pragnell, Cole, Kibblewhite, Townsend (s) 12; Haigh, Trotman Udv, Wchstor (y) .17 v. iNeilson, Higgins, King, Harp (s) 9; Hamer, H. Hall, Downard, Whyto (s) 14 v. Hendrv. Hughen. Harrison, Hollings (s) 12V Rovdhouso, Phillpotts, lusher, Maean (s) a bye. Another team coming in after the first! round did away "with further byes. The additional team was Kilgour, Blinkhorne, Gould and Ewington. Second Round— Limlip 17 v. Whyto 7; Mnsson 12 v. Nell 11 v. Harp 0; Hollings 18 v. Webster 0; 2wington 17 v. Perry 8. Third Round.— Ewington 14 v. Lindop 13: Perry 18 v. Harp 8; Mnsson 21 v. Webpter 4; Whyto 16 v. Townsend 7; 0. Pragnell 12 v. Hollings S. Fourth Round.—Ewington 12 v. Fifth Pound —Webster 19 v. Townsend 3; Ewington 16 v. Harp 10; 0. Prasmell 11 v. Lindon 7; Maspon 1G v. Whvto -!■; Perry 13. v. Rollings 5. This closed the first day'is piny and the position was as "under: Pragnell, 5 wins; Mnsson, a bye. 3 wins, 1 loss; Rollings, 2 wins, 3 losses; Ewingkm, 31 wins; Lindnp. 2-i wins. 2 losses; Welipter, 2 wins, 3 losses; AVhyle 3 .wins, 2 looses; Perry. 2 wins, 3 losses; Harp, i a point, -1 losses; Town.sond, I a' point. 4 lossey._ At tlie close- of the play rain began to fall .heavily, and the prospect did not look at all promising for a. second dav of the tournament. The rain continued all night, and it was. decided to postpone, the conclusion of the tournament to Anniversary Day.
