Crewe, iu a letter replying to Mr Bonar Law, said the manufacturers of Ijxe Dominions would have power •to protect themselves against the manufacturers, whereas Indian monufacturers would lack the power to secure Home markets.: ("Indian manufacturers," ho said, "will defend themselves, but if Mr Bonar Law begins to negotiate, lie will find India eager for international free trade, but will certainly stipulate for the -an:e piivileges as the selfI governing Dominions."
