PROTEST FROM WELSH LIBERALS. AGAINST ENDOWMENT CONCESSIONS. (Received La.st Night, 5.5 o'clock.) LONDON. December 21. Tlu> Welsh National Liberal Council lias adopted a resolution, protesting against the Government'!? concession in the disendowment clauses of the Welsh Disestablishment Bill, and declaring that, if any further concessions arc rnado, they will alienato tho support of the Welsh Liberals. SURRENDER OF NATIONAL ENDOWMENT. (Received December 21, 8.15 a.m.) LONDON, December 20. An amendment to leave glebes to the Welsh Church, was, after a. heated debate, rejected by 227 to 220. Thirty Liberals abstained from votf ing. There were prolonged Opposition cheers at the result. The clause was then guillotined and carried. The Disestablishment Campaign Committee at Cardiff indignantly protects against the Government's surrender of national endowments without consulting the Welsh Parliamentarv Party, The committer. also resents the action of the Engli-h Liberals i" forcing the Government's hands'. Tt is understood the committee will make further inquiries. Mr Stuart Q nniuel (Liberal mcmj her for Tower Hamlets) considers the, matter should bf rpforrod to the l«iw courts or a snecial tribunal.
