MUNICIPAL SPORTS.

The MaxLerton Borough Council has possibly ¥ome warrant iw tfef«mßg

tho proposal to provide a howling green, tennis court, etc., in tho public park, until next year's estimates aro under consideration. In face of the satisfactory report of tho engineer, however, it Kas no Justification for turning down tho scheme entirely. The public park is becoming; a great attraction to the town. It is a rendezvous for hundreds of people in the summer months. And the expenditure in providing a bowling green, etc., would represent such a small sum spread over the whole community that 't would hardly be felt. We trust that the Mayor and those Councillors who favour the project will bu'ng it forward again early in the new vcar.
