SLAUGHTERMEN'S DEMANDS.

In another part of this issu« we publish in full tho demands that are being mado upon the meat freezing companies of tho Dominion. They are interesting to farmers, as they are to the companies themselves. We cannot believe that the men expect that the whole of their demands will he conceded. Some of them are really presumptuous, while others are almost impossible. The conferences of meat companies, which are to be held in Wellington and Christehureh this week, will probably arrive at a definite conclusion on the matter. If tho demands are granted without modification, the companies and the farmers will lose heavily. If they are resisted, the slaughtermen may refuse to work, and there will still bo a loss. Tho position js an exceedingly difficult one.
