SCHOOL CONCERT

AND PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. The annual ameert and prize-giving ceremony in connection with Miss L. E. Hampton \s private school was Jield in St. Matthew's Schoolroom, Masterton, last evening. There was a largo attendance of pupils, parents and friends, the building, which was decorated with beautiful bunches of ilowers, being taxed to accommodate those present. A lengthy programme of vocal and instrumental nmsie was much appreciated by ihe audience, a number of the items being of exceptionally high merit. A feature of the programme was the staging of "What the Toys Did After Bedtime," the rendering of which afforded the audience the greatest pleasure, and reflected credit upon those responsible for the tuition of the juveniles wTio had a. thorough conception of the various parts allotted to them. A scene from "Alice Through the Looking Glass" was also splendidly rendered while the displays of physical drill by the senior and junior pupils was distinctly good. A oinmoforte isolo l , "Mazurka Komantique" by Miss Rita Hampton was thoroughly appreciated, as was also the rendering by Miss Marjorie Graham. The most important function of the evening was of course the presentation of prizes, won during the. year, and over which no little' enthusiasm ' was created as encli puni' came forward to receive the reward of merit and industry.
