He was'lodged in gaol, but the mob took possession, and hanged Curtis. : MOB VIOLENCE. REPUDIATED BY GOVERNORS, (Received Last Night. -5.5. o'clock.) - NEW YORK, December -7, . A convention of State ,• Governors, held ia Virginia, repudiated Governor C. L. Blease, of South Carolina, who advocated lynch law,foe negroes, who assaulted white women. Governor Blease defied the convention. There was an angry scene, but fcc-adhered to his principles; .. The other Governors pledged themselves to stamp out mob violence in every State. - Governor Blease has received numerous threatening letters.
