A MIS-STATEMENT.
It ltn« been publicly stated that the charges made against Sister McKay, a former nurse in the Mastertou Hospital, were not communicated to her. The secretary of the Masterton Hospital and Cliaritable Aid Board assures us that the charges were communicated to the nurse in writing. It is very much to be regretted that public , statements should be made on the evidence of the man in the street, and without any effort to glean the facts. It is a very easy matter to vilify and traduce public men on hearsay evidence. It is quite another thing to support, criticism- 1 with fa«te. A certain print has set itself up as a public censor of late. It imagines that everything, and everybody, is going to the eternal bow-wows, and it is working itself into a state of frenzy in its efforts to save the town arid it's people from everlasting perdition. The censor even dictates to the PowI ers as to whether their delegates should shake Lands with each other. Really, the censorship is becoming too funny. People are beginning to wonder if the Kaiser has not a contemporary, in New Zealand. It was the .{Kaiser who said "Meinself and Gott!"
