AMATEUR ATHLETICS
BOXING DAY MEETING. The fcrthcoming meeting of the Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Club promises to bo most successful. Although the closing of entries is yet some time off, nominations have already been received, indicating that a large number of competitors will be present. Another point in favour of the gathering being a complete success, is the fact that n 0 other meeting will 1,0 held on that day in the Wellington province. Visiting athletes are to bo entertained by a committee of the local Club, and it is to be hoped that when they leave they will take a good impression with them. A number of officials from the Wellington Centro will be present to assist with the arrangements, and their assistance should be of value to tho local officials. The- secretary would be pleased if intending competitors would hand in their entries at the earliest convenience, ;,« it would considerably facilitate the work of that official.
