PAHIATUA INDIGNANT. Tlie Pahiatua paper waxes warm at the prospect of tin; Pongafoa mail service being diverted next year to the rente desired by the Po;igarna settlers. It says:—"We regret that we cannot congratulate the Postmas-ter-General, the Hon. 11. H. Rhodes, upon his handling r;f the mail service question. Ho has. it seems, allowed himself to be subjected to the influence of certain astute wire-pullers. a:id this, we would point cut. can 'hardly inspire confidence in the .Minister, especially when it is remembered that the public interests are threatened thereby. . . The people of Pahiatua, we repeat should protestin a most emphatic; manner against this most regrettable state of affairs, and if their protest does iiot bring the Minister to reason, they should place the whole case before parliament and the countrv.
