A SKRIOUS OUTLOOK
(Received Last Niiiht, 9.5 o'clock.) LONDON, December 2.
Mr Warkden, Secretary of the Railway Clerks' Union, states that the companies have notified the Government that unless legislation is passed itii the present session to enable an increase in rates, they would withdraw the concessions granted at the time of the strike and leave. the Government to face a national railway strike. Mr Williams, secretary of the Railway Servants' Union., speaking at Manchester, said the Midland. Company was victimising the men concerned in the strike. If this was not stopped, the Unions would bo compelled to take action.
