PRICES OF WOOL
SOME WAIRARAPA SALES
EXCELLENT RETURNS OBTAINED.
Although shearing has been greatly delayed by the weather, there is evidence that the clip in the Wairarapa will be very heavy this season, and that the prices obtained will h* above the average. Buyers for Homo houses are scouring the district, and the prices offered have tempted many to sell locally. Mr W. H. Buick, the well-known. Romney Marsh breeder, of "Daisyburn," Mastcrton, has disposed of the whole of the clip from his stud flock, including pieces and bellies, at 11 Jd per lb at the local railway station. This is probably the highest price obtained for a local sale for many years past.'
Other settlers have disposed oi their clips at satisfactory figures, many of them ranging from i)d to lod per 3b. Most of the large holders are preferring to take the risk themselves, and are consigning their clips.
