WORKERS BUILDING SOCIETY.
ANN V AL MEETING. The annual genera] meeting of shareholders of the Workers' Mutual Benefit Building Society, was held in the Secretary's office. Queen Street, Masterton, last evening, there being present.—Messrs Pv. Krahagen •(chairman). J. W. Gordon, J. Kitchener, W. Galyer, J. L. Winskill, T, W. Barnes, A. Gardner J. Prentice, T. S. Oesswoll, J. Russell, E. Feist, P. L. Hollings, J. Diggins, A. White, A, K. Johnston W,. Low *ty, J. Puifortl .7. J. Barnes 'Gr Cellar, C. V. Yates. F. Martin, !R. Filter, liev. Thompson, and A. Hathaway.
The annual report and balance sheet was read. *
Mr Krahagcn, in moving the adoption of the balance-sheet, •congratulated the shareholder,.? on the most prosperous year that the society had had. He said the society had! not one security that was at all doubtful. The directors had worked well in the interests of the society j ai?d the urofit and loss account 'was now showing a credit balance of £2681 0s 3d, a balance that the shareholders should be proud of. He also referred to the capable manner in which the secretary had carried out his duties.
Mr P. L. Hollings endorsed the remarks of Mr Krahage.u. The motion was seconded by Mr A. Gardner and being put to the meeting was adopted. The following were elected directors : Messrs J. Candy, T. S. Cresswell. and J. C. Ewington (re-elected) and Mr G. Hvde.
Mr G. W. Sellar was re-elected shareholders' auditor for the ensuing year.
