WELCOME HOME
TO REV. AND MRS WATSON. The Rev. Herbert Watson, Vicar of St. Matthew's Church, with Mrs Watson, who have booH on a visit to the Old Country, returned to Masterton last evening. They were met at the station by officers of the Church, and were subsequently entertained at a welcome social in St. Matthew's schoolroom, which was crowded with parishioners and friends. The chair was occupied.by Mr E. H. WaddSngton, Vicar's Churchwarden, who extended a cordial welcome to the Rev. and Mrs Watson.
The Rev. Watson expressed pleasure at being again amongst his people, and his gratitude at the cordial reception accorded him. He gave a brief account of his travels, and stated that both Mrs Watson and himself had derived great benefit from, their holiday. The following musical programme was rendiered :—Song, Mr F. J. Hunn, "Will-o'-the-Wisp;" glee. choir-, ''Spring Song;" song, Mr W. Iggulden ; piano solo, Mr Spencer Ccmapton. Refreshments were handed ronnd, and a very pleasant ftnd profitable evening was spent.
