REMARKABLE CRITICISM.
The majority of the- metropolitan newspapers of Sw Zealand have congratulated the. .Ministry upon the reappointment of Mr Harold Beauchamp to the directorate of the Bank of New Zealand. The congratulations of the Wellington Post, however, as-
sume a peculiar form. Our esteemed contemporary seems to think that tlio Government has adopted an unwise- policy in passing over its friends in favour of a gentleman who has been-an avowed supporter of the Opposition. There are, of course, a great many people who irnagino l> ihat. the policy of '.'spoils to x t.ho victors" is ineradicable. The Reform Party intends demonstrating that its concern is for the Dominion as a whole, and not for individuals. In re-ap-pointing Mr Harold Beaucha.mp to the directorate of the Bank, wo are satisfied that the- Cabinet is of opinion that it is doing the best thing possible in the interests ofthe Dominion, and that; the step it has taken will afford widespread satisfaction.
