... • CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. •A rather interesting issue was mentioned in a Supreme Court judgment in the divorce proceedings between Cyrus Davie and Elizabeth Davie. Petitioner alleged desertion. The wife went to England in 1899, remained there_ audi finally refused-to return;-, but the parties had corresponded; the respondent saj;mg.,Ln„several- letters that she -would"not oppose divorce. Pe-titioner-contended vthat the wife's let*ters were written with the object of raising collusion as a bar to his divorce proceedings, while the respondent was endeavouring to get him ■ to commit himself to some . admission which she could use against-him. The Court held that the petitioner had established his case, and was entitled to a decree .nisi.
