Messrs Abraham and "Williamy, Ltd., report as follows: Wo held our | annual fair on Mie 21st inst, when a good yarding of all classes was offered ; Tho numbers were not quite up to those advertised, although well over 1000 head were yarded, a noticeable feature being the shortage in grown steers, as compared with previous years, thig no doubt being accounted for by the backwardness of the season, farmers naturally deciding not to offer their -bullocks in indifferent condition. The attendance was .a largo one, Wairarapa, Manawatu and Hawko's Bav being well represented, for which districts t3io bulk of the eattlo were bought. There was a keen demand for all classes, and we t have to report a very largo clearance at. first-class values, Mr E. T. Bar- . thorp topping the market at £7 with a very nice pen of 3-yr-old fresh conditioned bill locks. The New Zealand Loon and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their usual fortnightly aalo held yesterday: Wo offered a small yarding of sheep and a fair one of cattle to a. small attendance of the public. Sheep were well competed for and we ma do a total clearance; cattle also sold well.
