A municipal bowling*green in the public park may, to some people, sound like a luxury. But thesx> days of luxuries. The macadamised (street if? a luxury. The street lamps are a luxury. The water supply is, to some extent, a luxury. The library is a luxury. Municipal bowling-greens are provided in many towns r >nd hamlets in the Old Country, and are immensely popular. They bring the fascinating and" healthful sport within the ror-Ii of all sections of the co*m.rftunity. They are a source of attraction to visitors. The co?t of. providing, a .bowling-gT£<?n in tho public r>ark would not be considerable. It would represent an increase of alwut three-sixteenths of a penny in the pound in the rates.
