BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.
Sir, —You seem to have made up your mind that the Bible is not to bo ! introduoed to our State schools, and! ' that our children aro not to be given i an op]»ortunity of learning the Truth as it is taught in Holy Writ. If you will observe the habits of the youth of to-day, after they have been turned out from our "secular" institutions, you will, I think, agree with me that a, little Bible teaching would do no harm. It seems to bo that wo are training our children soleiy for sport and amusement, and that no effort is being made to inculcate noble ideals into the minds of the young. lam sure that the headmaster of the Masterton District High School must feel humiliated when he studies the habits of those who have passed through his hands.—l am, etc., PARENT.
(Our correspondent must he mvaro that the children aro afforded ample opportunity at the various Sabbath, schools, and in the home, to learn the "Truth," as he terms it. We are not aware that the habits of the children who have passed through the Masterton school are such as to humiliate the headmaster. The statement is a gratuitous libel.—Ed. Age.)
