DISGRACEFUL SCENE. DEMONSTRATION BY FEDERAUONISTS.
AUCKLAND, Last Night,
A disgraceful scene, caused by Federationists, took place after Mr Massey's meeting to-night. A crowd, apparently Federationists and strikers, being disappointed at being robbed of the opportunity of giving a hostile reception to the Prime Minister, gave vent to their spleen by a frenzied chorus of "boohing," and for a while things looked decidedly ugly. Commissioner Oullen, however, took in the situation at a glance, and marshalling a force of police, 100 strong, succeeded in clearing the streets in a comparatively short time.
