Lycett and 'Heath played below their form, but won all their matches, beating Anderson and Kidston by 6—3, 3 —6, and 9 —7, and Marsh and Metcalfe by 6 —4 and 7- —5. O'Hara Wood and Campbell beat A. B. Jones and Wright by 7 —-5, 4 —6 and B—6. Woods showed remarkably fine work off the ground, and his volleys were splendid.
