SIR JOSEPH WARD.
A good deal of curiosity is being aroused in tho forthcoming visit to tho Old Country of Sir Joseph Ward. Tho mem her for Awarua has .announced that he is going Home on a pleasure trip alone, and to transact certain business. The pleasure trip pretext is a convenient one; but we -shall bo surprised if the "business" does not assume a more or less public phase. It has been openly stated that the Asquith Government are- desirous if securing the services of Sir Joseph Ward in a certain public capacity, Wo shall therefore look forward with interest to the developments of the next few months. Meanwhile, we join with many well-wishers in expressing the hope that the ex-Premier's holiday will he of advantage to himself and the Dominion.
