■ ASSISTING ROBBERIES. (Received Last Niglit 10.10 o'clock.) NEW YORK, November 14. Convict witnesses, giving evidence before the Police Investigation Committee, swore that the police assisted at robberies, and benefited by tho proceeds, and were promoted afterwards for good service, in tracing supposed criminals.
