(].y TelearamS.esj Association.) WANGANCI, Last Night. Tlie Wanganui Agricultur.il Association's annual .show opened to-cliiv in fine weather, there being a. satisfactory attendance of the public. All classes are well-filled, and, as some of the leading breeders in the Dominion -are represented, the display is of a high standard. Horses, dairy cattle, fat stock, and dogs are specially strong" features, both in numbers and quality. In Hereford cattle there wa-s very keen competition between G. F. Mooro (Wanganui) and E. Short (Feilding), between whom the honours arc fairly evenly divided, though Mr Short carried off both championships. In Shorthorns, G. A. Turner, (Eltham) was awarded the championship for bull, and E. A. Campbell (Wanganui) for cow. In Polled Angus, C. G. Russell (Wanganui) secured the championship for bull, and Fred Moore (Wanganui) the championship for cow. In Ayr-shires, J. Donald (Wanganui) took champion for bull, and C. Tvar-st-or (Waikanne) for cow; while in I Holsteins J. Donald (Wanganui) was awarded both championships. Jerseys.—W. V. Harkness (Strat- ' ford), champion bull; R. J. Linn ' (Nornianby), champion cow. . Sheep: Lincolns —Championships, W. Per it (Masterton), ram; Mrs J. D. Orrnond (Hawke's Bay), ewe; English Leicester, Jns Little (Woodgrove), ram and ewe; Border Leicester, Mrs J. D. Orrnond, ram :nnd ewe; Romneys, W. Perry (Masterton), ram and ewe; Southdown, Nelson Bros. (Tomoana), ram and ewo; Shropshire. G. L. Marshall (Marton), ram and ewe; Ryeland, Momahaki St:to Farm, rain and owe. The horse championships are to be awarded to-morrow.
