TRUST AFFAIRS.
AND MR H. C. ROBINSON.
A MOTION THAT LAPSED. Mr H. G. Robinson at hvst ovening r s meeting of th-o Trust Lands • Trust brought forward the following | resolution, in a<x>ordanco with notice 1 of motion: "That the secretary be in- ] structed to arrange for the Town Hall to be placed at the disposal of Mr Robinson for a public meeting on Trust affairs, on a date to bo arranged before the closing of the Trust rolls, upon the understanding that any other trustee \vbo might desire to speak, be given a fair opportunity of doing so." Mr Robinson, in support of his motion, said that the public of Masterton were taking a greater interest in Trust matters than ever before, and they now had an active public opinion controlling the Trust. He wished the meeting called in order that he might explain to the electors the stand he had taken up, in the administration of the Trust business, and also to give any person who wished to speak on matters relating to the Trust an opportunity of doing so. The chairman called for a seconder, but no member seemed anxious to second the resolution. Mr Hogg: "You can't get a sec- < onder, and I am not surprised either." - j Mr Robinson: "I am waiting to see." 1 Mr Hogg: "I rise to a point of or- » dffl\ It is time to bring the meeting j to a close. The business could be i done in half the time. We have been listening to Mr Robinson speak- 1 ing for lialf the evening. His motion < is altogether a ridiculous one, and < as he can't get a seconder is out of j order." 1 The >Ghairaan : "The motion lapses 1 for want of a seconder." I The meeting then proceeded to the I next business. t
