HOMING PIGEON CLUB

AUCKLAND RACE

The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held a race for No 1 birds from Auckland yesterday, an airline distance of 287 miles. The birds were liberated at 8 a.m., the weather being fine with a slight south west wind blowing. The winning bird arrived home shortly after 4 p.m. The result of the race was as follows : J. Dixon's True Blue, 1023 yds per min, 1; J. B. F. Sutherland's Atalanta, 999yrs per min, 2; W. Dowling's Eyeglass, 3; E. Wicken's Navy Blue, 4; W. L. Drake's Eucleavour, 5; F. B. Rosson's Silvertail, 6; F. Keen's Skipper, 7.
