A SAD CASE.

' ' An inquest was held this, afternoon on the bodies of Aonie Reid, who had boon masquerading as Thomas Parkes, and her child, both of whom died yesterday. Dr Gordon Mac Donald said there was a slight mark of constriction round the neck of the child, such as might be caused by a cord. He came to the,conclusion Jjyit Xbc^chilcL |')iad been ben: alive, and died from ', negleet. • ', The, coroner returned- a verdict to •this effect.':; ■ At the inquest on the body of the mother, Dr Fleming stated that she was suffering From, puerperal aclampsia. Deceased would probably -lot have survived a confinement no matter what treatment she received, as she had been suffering from Bright'* disease, which left a tendency to puerperal aclampsia at childbirth. A verdict in accordance with the i medical evidence was returned.
