A WOMAN'S DEATH.
PECULIAR STRROUXDINGS. (B<» Association.) WELLINGTON. Last Night. Jane May Allen, si widow, residing in Tinakori Road, was found dead this morning about 11 o'clock. She was last seen alive by Charles Borock, labourer, witlr whom sheliatV been living for'.about five years, and who. reported the death. Deceased was the widow of the late William Allen, a guard for many years on the-Wnira-rapa mail train. When the police entered the room, the body was lying in a dirty bed l ,, with dirty blankets. The room was in a filthy condition. The woman's face was much swollen, and the body was discoloured from head to foot. At the morgue when the police were about to remove the ring from o>ie of the deceased's fingers, the flesh came away, lead'ng to the supposition that deceased's system was in a very bad state, or else death had taken place earlier than stated by Borock. The latter said the woman was addicted' to drink. A post mortem is probable, as the doctors have refused to give a, certificate of death.
