BOWLING CLUB.
OPENING OF SEASON. The: opening ceremony of the Maaterton Bowling Club t;ook place yesterday afternoon at the bowling green. There was a very large attendant of players and ladies. The president, Mr P. L. Hollings, iri a ne.it speech declared the greens open for the season. Mr Hollings commented'-upon the excellent attributes of the game,'!; and expressed the hope that the cotaitig season,would be as successful as tlie past. The greens were theu opened, by Mrs Hollings, who threw up the jack. Sides were picked by the president and vice-president, and an interesting series of games wero played, the pre; sident's team eventually winning by 104 points to 77." • Refreshments were provided by the ladie-s. '
