HIS HONOR'S OPINION.
The opinion expressed in the Supreme Court at Mnsterton yesterday by His Honor the Chief Justice, that Wairarapa farmers are very careless about their homesteads, is hardly" supported by the facts. The farmers in this district, particularly those who are, freeholders, conduct their business on just as up-to-date lines as the farmers in other parts of the Dominion. Indeed, considering the fight they have had with the rabbit pest, noxious weeds, etc., they have performed remarkablei feats in farm husbandry. We will take His Hojior to stud, sheep, agricultural and dairy farms in this district which cannot be beaten in any part of New Zealand, flfhen it is remembered that the farms of this district have been less than half a century under cultivation, it' wijl not be regarded, as quite fair to compare them with the farms of Scotland and England, which have b<pen under cultivation for many centuries.
