AT THE CARTERTON SHOW. The result of the butter fat competition in connection with the Carterton show was made known about I o'clock yesterday afternoon, Mr W. A. Hart being declared the winner with his entry (No. 11 in the catalogue), a, Uolstein cross cow. Following are the details of those placed first, second and thir<l: — first. —W. A. Hart (Holstein cross), lbs milk, 254; test, 3.9; lbs butter fat, 9.906 ; points for milk, 25.4 ; points for fat, G0.342; total points, 94.42. Second. —IV. A. Saywell (ShorthornHolstein): lbs milk, 237; test, 3.6 ; lbs butter fat, 8.532; points for milk, 23.7; points for fat, 59.724; total points, 83.424. Third. —W. Earl (Jersey cross): lbs milk, 191J; test, 4.7; lbs butter fat, 9.000; points for milk, 19.15; points for fat, 63.000; total points, 82.15.
