The difficulty seems to be in the isolation and comparatively small pay offered, A teacher who goes out into the wilds has little or no opportunity of improving his, or her scholastic status. The time is coming when the salaries for backblocks teachers will ljavo to bo considerably increased, and opportunities afforded, by correspondence and otherwise, for these, officials to improve their knowledge and fit themselves for larger schools.
