THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES
A WONDERFUL PICTURE. To-night Messrs Thompson and Payne will present the most extraordinary .picture ever seen in Masterton in which a drama is enacted by beetles. This marvellous picture has caused a sensation Avhorever shown, and no wonder, when we see a complete drama of the Middle Ages acted entirely by beetles, black, beetles. It makes one wonder at t'ie unlimited patience of Professor Loz•shki. The drama opens up' with a love romance between the King's daughter and the ambassador. Unable to obtain the King's consent the happv couple elope. Discovered r time, a duel eventuates, the lover being victorious. The lover's flight, the dive from the high banks, and the .swimming of the river are very fine. The attack on the castle by the King s soldiers, the firing of the cannons, the march to war. the storming of the castle, the great hand to hand conflict on the. castle ramparts, the ambassador trapped, with the final blowing up of the castle, the' lover's death in'beetle laud, the playing of the beetle's death hymn, make up a marvellous picture. The remainder of the series is built up with many powerful dramatic subjects, comedies of the merriest, and scenics of the prettiest. The children are promised a special treat at the matinee on Saturday afternoon, when a splendid series of pictures of particular interest to them will be screened. !
