STATE PURCHASES IN HAWKE'S BAY. The Land Purchase Inspector, Mr I J. D. Ritchie, states that the Govern- | ment has concluded arrangements for I the purchase and delivery in March I of the following Hawkc's Bay freeI holds : Ngaroto, from ,Mr H. Hartree, 10,000 acres, and an adjoining property, LWaihau, from Mr Mcßae Peacock, [ 6000 acre, in Puketapu riding. i Sherenden, from Mr Letlibridgc, I S3OO acres, and an adjoining proper- ! ty, Tunanui, 20CO acres, from Mr | Hoadley, in Okawa riding. The land is classed as pastoral; it ' is not expected that it will be suitable for dairying purposes. Ngaroto and. Waihan are described as well watered.
