The latest reports from Mount Lyell state that between forty and fifty miners are alive in the 1000 ft level. When the news reached the surface the crowd went wild with excitement. Tlliey shook hands frantically, cried, and embraced each other. The messages of sympathy received include ono from Mr Glover, secretary of the New Zealand Labour Federation.
