Mr H. M. Campbell, MJP., says a Hastings telegram, is slowly recovering from an attack of typhoid fever, arid is expected to leave his bed in a week's time.
A Sydney cable statevS that Captain White, of New Zealand', has arrived from London, where Re has been making inquiries regarding the system of exchanging officers. The Vicar of St. Matthew's, Masterton,. with Mrs Watson, left England on the I.lth inst. by the steamer Osterley, of the Orient Line. They are timed to arrive here on 26th November.
The death is announced from New Plymouth of Mr T. S. Weston, Crown Prosecutor Tor the Taranaki Judicial district for many years, at the age of 76. The deceased was a well known and highly respected (resident, and was at one time a District Court Judge. His wife predeceased him three years ago. He leaves four sons, three of whom are lawyers.
