AN UNUSUAL CASE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) TIMARU, Last Night. A youth was sued to-day for the vuiuo <••!' ;t hor.so which lie hired at a Jivory stables with a buggy, for as lie said, a reasonable journey. The iierse was brought buck in an exhausted condition } and died soon after reaching the stable. Tho evidence showed that ho had driven 80 miles in about 12 hours, with three adults and four children in the buggy. The Magistrate decided Ithat tho defendant had driven too far, and held him responsible. He ordered him to pay for the. horse, which was valued. at £lO, and costs.
