THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES The Foresters' Hall keeps up its reputation for providing absolutely the best procurable in the picture world, and the hundreds present to view the new programme testified their appreciation by hearty applause. "A. Woman's Gratitude" is a splendid drama, which should suit the ladies. "The Arnst-Barry Boat Race" proved very informative, and though the film was not of any great length, a good idea was given of the contest for the world's rowing championship. A splendid: Mexican story of the sensational *<Yrder was told in ' "Captain Rivera's Reward." A fascinating tale was unfolded in the screening of "Jack and' Jingles." The plot is of the simplest. A newsboy has a. wonderful little dog which, after doing some marvellous feats, finds a valuable document lost by a wealthy business man. The lad takes -the papers to the owner and as rewarded with a substantial cheque. A very fine scenic subject was "Across the Swiss Alps." The views were highly interesting, giving in harmonious colours extensive glimpses of huge snow-cap-ped mountains, valleys of snow and other landscape pictures. Other pictures were . "Paid Back," "Her Uncle's Consent," "Shelling of St. Marcus" (dramas), "Two Knights in a Bar Room," "The Colonel's Bet," "A Domestic Treasure," "Friscot is Honest" (comics). The ever-popular Thompson-Payne matinee will take place on Saturday'at 2.30 p.m. Patrons wil be given fulrther opportunities of seeing these films, as they will be Screened bothi?4o-tiight and tomorrow evening.
