WAIRARAPA PRESBYTERY.

The annual reports of the Home Mission charge of Eketahumi and Pongaroa were submitted Eketahuna registered no less than forty wet and stormy Sundays during the past year, greatly affecting the attendance and finance, and indicating the -difficulties of travel in that district. Pongaroa reported attendances well maintained in most of the stations and an increase of £lO in collections. For the period January to September, 400 families were visited. Mr Rattray said that "the joy of living in the love of the people increased the sweetness of being their servant for Christ's sake, until service became a sacrament to the soul." The roads were such that none } but those who had a, constitution of iron need attempt work in such a parish. On the motion of the Kev. A. T. Thompson, it was agreeu to heartily approve of the objective of the Bible-in-Sehoois League (New South Wales svstem), and toearnestly support Canon Garland in nis forthcoming campaign. A letter was read from Mr Mills, expressing how gratefully money or produce would be received for the needs of the Presbyterian Orphanage Homes from the Wa intra pa congregations. Sympathy was expressed with the congregation at Waihi during the long and trying strike. Eev. .1. K. Stowell was appointed treasurer to receive contributions of any who wished to aid that congregation. The Eev. .T. K. Stowell was appointed corresponding member for the-Re-cords Committee, and Rev. L.
