PHYSICAL CULTURE.

THE NEW ZEALAND CHAMP lON-si-nrjj, Mr li. 11. Voiteh, and a team of three competitors, arrived in Masterton on Monday evening, and immediately found their way to the Y.M.O.A. Gymnasium, where the rehearsal for the coming display was in full swing. The team are a likely looking lot, as is also Mr G IT. Bobinson, the Mastertori representative, Trho has also come, up from Christchurch to do battle for his old teacher, Mr R. 0. Jarrett. Mr Ilornibrook, the well known physical culture teacher from Christchurch, will arrive by the mid-day train tomorrow with a team of six competitors and two visiting enthusiasts. Mr Garnet Sim, the well known Wellington physical culture expert, has nominated three pupils, and will also arrive by the mid-day train on Thursday. Three teams have entered for the Thompson-Payne .Shield. Four have entered for the senior boys and fourteen for the junior championship. Three light-weights and six heavyweights will represent Mastorton in . the men's championships. The secretary (Mr ].{. 0. Jarrett) has everything in readiness for a great competition. I This afternoon a formal reception will be given in the Gymnasium to the visiting delegates and competitors, when ■each of the gentlemen holding office are requested to be present.
