Mr H. H. F. Stockley, F.R.G.S., representing the "Foreign and Colonial Compiling and Publishing Company," is at present in Masterton.
The death occurred in Palmorston North on Tuesday of Mr Ernest McKeown, a former resident of Martinborougn, at the early age of twontyfivo years.
Mr 1?. J. Wh>t'\ n. member of the Masterton Fire Board, has tendered his resignation to the Board. The vacancy will be filled by an election by the insurance companies.
Tho chairman of tho Wairarapa Hospital and Cha.rit-a.ljle Aid Board yesterday extended a welcome to Mr W. W. McCardle, and expressed the hope that his recent trip to Australia had proved beneficial to his health. Mr McCardle acknowledged the chairman's welcome.
The resignation of Mr G. R. Welch ,Ts a wrmhor of the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable, Aid Board was yesterday accepted with roaret. M - Welch is about to leave the district. It was decided to inform the Wairarapa South County Council of the resignation. Mr H. Guilds, who was taken to the Masterton Hospital a few days ago, suffering from a wound on the bead, which he received while working on a building, was able to leave the hospital yesterday, but he will not he' able to resume, work for a few days. 'Mill, who lias been pastor of the Pahiatua Presbyterian Church for the oast four years, has ~,.,.«iv0d a unanimous call from the Flemington congregation (Canterbury, which he has accepted. Certain formalities bare yet to be dealt with by the Christehureh and Wairarapa Presbyteries in the matter.
