WIDOWS' PENSIONS.

Some months ago this payer urew the attention of th? Government to certain defects in the- Widows' Pensions Act, one of which prevented a widow whose child was born out of the Dominion from receiving a pension. Itis satisfactory to note that a Bill was introduced in the House yesterday to remedy these defects. Provision has also been made for the granting of pensions to women whose husbands have-been confined in mental hospitals for a given period. There is little doubt that the measure will reach the Statute Book this session.
