GREECE AND TURKEY.
(The announcement in our cable {hews this morning that Greece has ordered the mobilisation of her army and navy, and has recalled her merchantmen from Turkish waters is distinctly ominous. Greoeo has had a grudge, against Turkey ever since sho was defeated in the war of 1897 in respect to Crete, when she was called upon to pay .* huge indemnity and 'submit to a reconstruction of the frontier in Turkey's favour. Tho war with Tripoli and the aggressivo attitude of Bulgaria and of Servia, have probably inspired Greece with hopes of revenge. The nominal strength of the Grecian army is from 120,000 to 130,000 men, but there are sufficient officers for only 7-5,000 men. The .navy consists of one armoured cruiser, three small battleships, and a. few gunboats and torpedo craft.
