There was a great crowd at the Stadium to witness the opening rounds of the £IOOO tug-of-war contests. In the international event, Scotland beat Ireland. Fitzpatrick's Australian team beat Hackenburg'a Australian team. In tho All-comer 3' Championship, the New Zealand Drivers' Union downed the Sawmill employees.
